The OSSA 2020 Autumn Virtual All-committee meeting (VAC) has been scheduled for October 7, 2020 (GMT+2). We encourage all Sponsor and Contributing members to attend, and have done our best to accommodate worldwide time zones.

This OSSA 2020 Autumn Virtual All-committee meeting serves as the alternative for OSSA’s semi-annual All-committee meetings, which are typically held in a face-to-face setting. Nonetheless, the goal of both meeting types is to share thoughts on important Alliance topics between committees and workgroups, and to inform members about the latest Alliance status and activities.

This VAC meeting will be largely based on centralized topics instead of traditional committee-based meetings. With this VAC meeting, we endeavor to:

   >  engage in a new meeting format, different from a ‘regular meeting’

   >  focus on sharing of information between committees and WGs

   >  inspire new and existing members to contribute to the Alliance

   >  collectively work on new potential areas of interest for the Alliance

What is the overview and/or background information for this meeting?

This OSSA 2020 Autumn Virtual All-committee meeting (VAC) serves as the replacement for OSSA’s semi-annual in-person All-committee meetings. The goal of both meeting types is to share thoughts on important Alliance topics between committees and workgroups. In addition, both meeting types are there to inform members about the latest Alliance status and activities.

How will this meeting differ from the OSSA 2020 May Virtual All-committee meeting?

Unlike the OSSA 2020 May Virtual All-committee, this Autumn version will be topic-based instead of committee-based. This means that VAC meeting participants, apart from two general plenary (opening and closing) sessions, participants in the meeting can opt to participate in one topic-based discussion, in multi-disciplinary groups. In total, there will be three of these topic-based discussions from which to choose. Subscription of topics is based a first-come first-served basis. With this concept, OSSA aims to (1) enhance inter-committee knowledge sharing, (2) motivate new members to quickly join discussions and (3) facilitate (personal or corporate) networking in a virtual setting.

What virtual event platform will be used for this meeting?

Similar to the OSSA 2020 May Virtual All-committee meeting, we will use the Zoom platform for the OSSA 2020 Autumn Virtual All-committee meeting.  For the topic-based discussions, additional online tools may be used.
