Since its inception, the Society for the Study of Black Religion has facilitated landmark research within the field of Black religious scholarship. We gather annually to advance the study of Black religion, to visit historic sites pertaining to Black life in America, to share groundbreaking work, to foster the study of Black religion in school curricula, and to promote the professional development of new scholars.
