2021 OSSA Virtual All Member Meeting
June 9, 2021 | 1:00-3:45pm Central European Time (GMT+1)
Welcome to the Open Security & Safety Alliance (OSSA®) Virtual All Member Meeting (VAMM)! We encourage all Alliance members to attend this re-imagined Alliance meeting concept, and have purposefully designed an appealing meeting program that accommodates worldwide time zones.
Open platform ecosystems are on the rise in the security industry. Through the Open Security & Safety Alliance, (component) manufacturers, (VMS) software developers, system integrators, SoC manufacturers, app developers and other stakeholders are working together to solve common issues, enabling innovation and increasing market and business opportunities. This has resulted in the formation of a virtually frictionless, platform-based Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem where harmonized, open, and trustworthy devices allow for flexible and fit-for-purpose add-on innovation from third parties.
Since its inception in late 2018, OSSA has been clear about its aim to enable collaborative dissemination of technology. Because, while individual technological advancements occur, there exists struggle with industry-wide data-uniformity and IoT device orchestration. Often times, solutions provide an answer to only the most common or pressing customer problem sets. Additional fragmentation hinders the industry from further cross-firm collaboration. OSSA addresses all these issues by specifying harmony across devices, enabling flexible development of software across devices, a frictionless IoT infrastructure to unite demand and supply, and a joint approach for cybersecurity, privacy protection, and conditions for device performance.
For this premier Virtual All Member Meeting we have asked OSSA member and platform provider Security & Safety Things to speak about its technological advancements in relation to the joint works by the Open Security & Safety Alliance.
Choose one of these OSSA Ecosystem Update tracks:
Track 1: Vendor-agnostic Camera OS – Justin Frints – Vice President Engineering OS at S&ST and Certification & Testing Work Group Chair at OSSA
A comprehensive walk through the current state of the Security & Safety Things Operating System (OS), which is based on OSSA specifications. In addition to a look underneath the hood of the OS, we will demonstrate its latest advancements and various integration capabilities in real-life demos.
Track 2: Developer Environment, Open Application Store and Device Management – Madhav Varma – Vice President Product at S&ST and Representative of OSSA
An end-to-end journey through the Security & Safety Things Cloud – both from a developer and integrator perspective. We will provide a live demo on how developers can register and access documentation to develop and upload an application to be sold. In addition, we will showcase in a separate demo how integrators can use the Application Store to find and buy needed applications and how to use the Device Management Portal with its digital twin capabilities to install and manage applications on cameras “Driven by OSSA”.
